Course Description:
Course Outline: This course is designed to cover all the features of the 2010 Project Web App likely to be used by Programme and Portfolio Managers including Programme Review, Milestone Delivery, Resource Capacity and Loading, and reporting. It also covers Portfolio Review and selection and the workflow behind the project selection and approval process.
Who Should Attend:
Programme and Portfolio Managers, and anyone else who needs to understand the Programme Management capability and Portfolio Management functionality within the EPM solution, as well as resource capacity and loading, workflow and approval, and graphical reports. Cross project linking and dependencies, deliverables and how the Project Server solution provides a way to manage multiple programmes and projects. No previous experience is assumed or is necessary.
Course Content:
This course will provide an overview of the components of the Microsoft EPM solution including Project Server, Project Professional and the Project Web App (PWA). Plus how data is exchanged between Microsoft Project Professional 2010, Project Server and viewed in the PWA Browser. The course covers the features of the EPM solution that are most helpful in allowing Programme and Portfolio Managers to understand the interaction between projects, programmes and resources and provides the necessary skills to enable delegates to understand how to select projects in the portfolio, manage and view projects and programme data, link tasks across projects, and review the implications of project changes on the portfolio and resource requirements/loading.
